Another restaurant that appears to be failing due to the economic down turn. This is a family type Italian fare restaurant. My last visit I noted that the number if side dishes that came with a meal have been cut to two, which would include a salad if you ordered one. The portions are smaller, the quality has fallen. I have been a patron for 32 years, but not anymore. No wonder the restaurant was not as crowded on a late Sunday afternoon as it has been in the past.

I am in total agreement with quvet's review. After many, many years of dining there with my family, we always thought that the restaurant was "the best". At our last 2 visits, everything has changed for the worst and we no long care to go there to be disappointed again. How sad.

I have never had a bad experience here, have been going for over 20 years, and my parents have been going for longer than that. It's a great family restaurant, that has it's own unique feeling. The owner is great and very friendly! I love it!

I've been going to Amanteas for 20+ years. It has long been a favorite of mine and my family. However the visit tonight was very disappointing. The soft bread sticks which have long been a favorite of my kids were flat and hard. We found out that they have changed the number of side dishes that come with the meal after all these years from 3 to 2. The baked potatoes were minuscule compared to what they used to serve. Dom must be falling on hard times these days and is replacing the once quality products with sub quality products to make up the difference. After all these years I will have to think hard before going back again which is indeed a said day for my family and me.

Wasn't all I was led to believe. It was good, hot food, but nothing that would draw me back anytime soon. I mean, you can go to any italian restaurant and get good hot food. Dario's is another restaurant in town and probably has better food. But I'm not terribly impressed with them either. I thought the prices were a bit high at Amatea's, but not unreasonably so. Expect to spend $20 per person, and be sure to order an appetizer - you'll wait for your entrees a short while!
